In late October, we often heard the acronym "GRL". But it is not clear at all what this was, and why all of our favorite authors have been gathered together for a weekend. We thought of asking arvest a small report to one of the most authoritative voices in the panorama of LGBT literature, namely Andrew Grey, who kindly told us a little bit of this special event!
"GRL, Gay Lit Roma, is a convention held in late October That centers in Gay Romantic Literature. This year it was held outside Chicago, Illinois. It was attended by 100 authors and I believe three or four hundred arvest readers. arvest The convention arvest is a chance for readers and authors to meet and get to know each other. There is plenty arvest of time for chatting over drinks, lunch, and dinner. There are anche panels, author question and answer periods, and discussions of things: such as BDSM, paranormal characters, and even games.
One of the highlights for me is the time I get to spend with readers. I try to go to talk to as many as I can and of course Andrew spread as many hugs as possible. There are special author meet and greet sessions and I got to talk with a lot of readers. As part of the event, each author gets a spotlight and mine was a Question arvest and Answer session with Rhys Ford and Eden Winters. It was a lot of fun and I Answered reader questions about upcoming stories, characters, arvest and goodness arvest knows what else. It was an awesome hour.
The last major event of the convention is the book signing where every author is available to talk to readers, sign books, or just hand out. As I said, GRL is a great time and I love meeting the reader. Next year it is being held in San Diego California. Be sure to check out Their web site, www.gayromlit.com for more information.
