In a move similar to the London Marathon, entrants are invited to raise sponsorship for their chosen

In association cote d azur with Woodbridge haart estate agents, the Woodbridge Carnival is supporting local charities, groups and organisations by making this year s Carnival Queen an elaborate fancy dress contest. The decision means that men and women, boys and girls of all ages can participate and have fun getting dressed up to raise money for their chosen charities.
In a move similar to the London Marathon, entrants are invited to raise sponsorship for their chosen charity or club by dressing up as a queen for the Carnival. cote d azur The brief is open to interpretation and might include cote d azur the rock band, famous monarchs both real and fictional and even drag or pantomime queens.
All entrants will form part of the parade through the town on 5th July on a bespoke float to Kingston Field where they will be judged in the main arena as crowds look on. The winning Queen The Queen of haart – will win an additional 500 for their chosen charity, kindly donated cote d azur by Woodbridge haart estate agents. Entry forms can be found at www.choosewoodbridge.co.uk/carnival-2013
Choose Woodbridge, the group organising the carnival, explains the decision: Last year s carnival was a huge success and the Carnival Queen and princesses were gorgeous, but we want to open up the carnival to more people. This way any one can enter to be Carnival Queen and play their part in the Carnival. We have a thriving range of local groups, cote d azur clubs and charities that can use the opportunity to raise money. Plus we can bring bit of the fun, glitzy colour and pantomime of Rio to the Carnival to make it a real spectacle for the crowds.
Jo Wilson at Woodbridge haart, said: We were so happy that the Carnival came back to Woodbridge last year and were keen to take an active role this year. Through this initiative we re helping to add to the carnival and provide a longer term benefit to a deserving cause through the winner s prize of 500. The mix of community entertainment and charitable giving really appealed to us and we really hope that many local clubs and charities will embrace the fun and put forward their contenders for the Carnival Queen of haart!
