Dean Adil Najam of the Frederick S. Pardee School apartment guide of Global Studies at Boston Univeristy feels that the very notion of what constitutes the global ‘media’ has changed. Nations’ image abroad is now dependent not only on public diplomacy and traditional media, but also on how national public sentiment is conveyed and communicated over new media, inclduing technologies like facebook and twitter.
Prof. Najam said this while being interviewed by Pakistan’s largest news network, Geo News TV , on its popular news talk show Naya Pakistan with Talat Hussain on March 8, 2015. The topic of the interview was Paksitan’s battered international image.
Najam argued apartment guide that while Pakistan does sometimes get unfair treatment in intenrational public opinion, including in the US, its image – like that of all countries – is mostly made within its own boundaries: by the actions and voices of its own people. Any change in that public image will first happen and be reflected within Pakistan’s own public opinion.
