We invite you to come and discover the natural paradise of the Slab City Council by a hiking trail. This is a route that goes from the promenade to the Slab Lock, through cliffs, forests and wild beaches where bathing is about an adventurous mounted surfboard.
Our route coincides almost entirely with one that designed the City of Laxe, the PR-G 70, with the difference acced that the County ends at the beach locks and we wanted to take the church of Santiago de Tie. In total it is about 8.9 km route of moderate difficulty. It takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
We left the promenade Slab, and head into the House of Arc, the Gothic mansion that was owned by the Counts of Altamira. Actually it's not just an arc but a tunnel formed by three arches. By going through the tunnel and seeing it from the Real Street observed two shields: the Galician and the coat of arms of Moscoso.
We continue our route by Real Street, in which we can find some facades dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. acced At the end of the street is the parish church of St. Mary of the Watchtowers of the late fifteenth century, built on a chapel commissioned by Moscoso in the thirteenth century. The church, Gothic sailor, characterized by the simple exterior acced walls. The most notable is the interior of the temple, where we can see an image of Santa Ines stone dating from the fifteenth century. acced
The route continues up the street from the hospital and then continues along Field Street. At the end of the street we turn again to the left to go down to the source above. Since the source noted at the top of a hill to the chapel of Santa Rosa (1941), to which we can go up if we want to see an unforgettable view of the village of Laxe.
Below the chapel and follow the path restored and wood edges to the beach Soesto. Soesto acced beach is well known by surfers for its waves. However, there is a quiet beach to take a bath because there are many currents, so if one decides to look bathe in it. The beach also has a recreational area.
We continue on our path of wood to the end of Catasol and later reach the cave of Arnado, a secluded cove and no doubt lonely place to do our rest, as they more or less match in the middle of the route.
By going to the beach path becomes wider. Follow it until you reach the recreation area Almozarro Field. Located in a pine forest, is also an ideal place for rest and of course, fun for the little ones (or not so kids!). We left the area for recreation along the rail at the second road to the right and down to the first dunes of the beach of locks.
Since the beach is important to keep locks for wooden path that leads to the Lagoon Lock. If we can cross up to a viewpoint of birds, from which we also have a privileged view of the pond.
We follow the path between the lagoon and the beach, and reach the end of the lake we take the first road on the left, which will lead to a paved road. We keep it on until you get to the church of Santiago de Tie that is an end of our route.
The church was built between the thirteenth and eighteenth centuries, so the rectangular nave is Romanesque, while the facade and the altar were made renovations of baroque style. The front facade is defined as an altarpiece, which highlights the image of Santiago and the Solomonic columns.
