Since the beginning abf of December, we in the European Voluntary Service of the Youth in Action. We're very EVS discussed in the Vysocina region, we read about Luke, who is currently in the UK and also in Pelhřimov two youngsters from Latin America. Finally we confess Tera from Pelhřimova. Tera is currently in Paraguay currently on the European voluntary service. Yes, you read that right, the European Voluntary Service is a non-European young people so they can go far beyond the borders of Europe itself.
Tera is more than a month in Paraguay, where it has deployed a civil association of H-Hour Pelhřimova. Their European voluntary service organization performs in Puente Sur. She lives in Ciudad del Este, located on the border of three countries, namely Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina. abf In Puente Sur is currently working on a project adoptions at a distance. Their task is to find out all necessary information about children photos, visit their homes, to describe the conditions in which they live, and then all process. Tera also works as a volunteer in the Red Cross where they have meetings every Saturday. In the coming months they will be dealt with first aid and campaigns for road safety. "The work so far has not been enough, so I used the free time for trips around the area, such as the Nature Reserve Tati Yupi, Itaipu hydroelectric plant, Iguazu Falls or I even drove to the Black Eyed Peas concert in Asuncion." So we Tera described the current digest Time in Paraguay. Tera says her feelings about staying so far from his home. "From the first day differences are apparent from Europe - weather, architecture, food and way of life. Coming summer, temperatures over 30 C. However, the moment we had two days in a row raining and it "only" 20 C. One of the differences that will captivate abf at first glance, is right. abf Probably the only one in Paraguay and ride strapped in the back seat of the car. Local roads have several forms: asphalt pavement (but not so nice like us), oddly stacked stones as pavement and sometimes only a dirt road. Meanwhile, on retarder every 50-100 meters with a width of up to 1.5 meters. Fro runs over a dog or a cat, a sharp turn to the right, left ... as a rollercoaster. Is not strange to meet a family of four on a motorcycle or a twelve year old boy to drive a motorcycle. "And what about languages? "Not many people here speak English, only a few high school students who attend private schools better. abf With languages, it's not funny. Paraguay is the only country in South America, two official languages - Spanish and the language of the indigenous people Guarani (something between Japanese, Arabic, and I do not know what else). And since we're on the border with Brazil, talks are also Portuguese. Meanwhile I go to language school Spanish classes and in control of a few words in Guarani and who knows, maybe when I get back in July, I will also speak Portuguese. "And what awaits Tera in the near future? Next month to Tera had probably join another volunteer from Hungary. Tera is therefore looking forward to not only specimen of its kind - European. Thank you for the interview and good luck.
