In August 2013, the Switzerland's first CAS Luxury Management degree program at FH HWZ launched in Zurich. When I heard of this CAS, I knew immediately that I will blog about it. My husband - he's here along with Prof. Dr. Oliver healing course director - had then announced to me that there will be a presentation on the Fashion & Luxury theme, which could be very interested. Said and done: Yesterday afternoon I sat in the school room, as Thomas Briggerstrasse informed. They were very entertaining hours, and I learned a lot. These issues were addressed: What is Fashion? How are trends and where to find them? There are books and websites that publish trends. But since not everyone comes off as these information are very expensive. house designs I used to have such a "Forecast book" in the hands, which my colleague Luis Bonfiglio has shown (also Fashion Designer). Trends are shown for example here in Mood Boards (www.wgsn.com) and in various categories. You can see what colors, shapes and materials are available in the center. Or just also upcoming trends like Google Glasses and ecology. This results house designs in designer inspired and develop their "own thing". This spring / summer we had trends as the theme black & white, Twins or metallic. Black & white and the Twins-look has become very strongly reflected in the Louis Vuitton campaign. In autumn / winter, the 40s, grunge, leather, skirts and the color white (very rare for winter) at the center. To enumerate only a few. Here are a few other trends. Why the designers all come at the same time with the same trends? Because they read the same magazines and watch the same movies. It's simple. If a film like "The Great Gatsby" in theaters, the designers rely on fashion in this style. Are the trends house designs worldwide? Yes. But these trends are varied from country to country. Difference Louis Vuitton & Goyard Here was discussed. Both brands were founded in Paris in a similar time. Both started with bags. Louis Vouitton house designs now produces house designs fashion. Goyard has only two shops in Paris. Both brands have totally different strategies - and depending on where you live in Paris, it is preferable to one or another brand. If I could choose, I would not hesitate for a second to make up my mind for a Goyard bag more. This is exclusive for me and more luxurious than a bag, all of which have now - and which is copied en masse. I also own a LV, which I received for my 30th. And this I will never give away. But the "special something" - the "magic" behind house designs this is unfortunately gone. I liked even remember that I had once read an article that Goyard does not engage in marketing. And Thomas said here: That is their best marketing ... My magic is still at the Chanel 3.55. The Chanel bags have gained in recent years, even in value. Difference Fashion & Style Briggerstrasse Thomas grew up in Switzerland and studied in London & Milan Fashion Design. Subsequently, he has worked for Dolce & Gabbana, Ermenegildo Zegna & Sonia Rykiel, before he founded his own company "proportional" in Paris. He has also said that for him the style is important and it does not "just fashion" wanted to produce, which is intended for the Fashion Weeks.
